Fraser, Jay. Lost Dutchman Mine... 1988. Good-looking paperback printed on high quality paper with excellent plates. One of the best looking books in the genre, also contains the best pictures of the stone maps. Fraser's argument flies in the face of orthodox interpretations of the stone maps as well as seriously challenges the accepted wisdom that the Lost Dutchman Mine is located in the Superstitions. He argues, instead, that the Lost Dutchman Mine is in the Pinnacle Peak or Cave Creek area. Among other things, Fraser bases this position on his identification and location of landmarks that match clues on the stone maps, as well as old Spanish mine works he discovered. The author has filed and worked his own gold claims and knows what he is talking about. For those who want to judge for themselves, he documented all of this in a one-hour video which is still for sale. The author informs me that this book continues to sell very well and is soon to be translated into Japanese.
